Critic Consensus: Fast, funny, and gleefully profane, the fourth-wall-busting Deadpool subverts superhero film formula with wildly entertaining -- and decidedly non-family-friendly -- results.

Critic Reviews for Deadpool
Watching the film is like sitting at dinner with a teen-ager who believes that, if he swears long and loudly enough, he will shock the grownups into accepting him as one of their own.
Flamboyantly vulgar and determinedly self-referential, Deadpool has the shape of a superhero movie but the soul of a Danny McBride flick.
Deadpool is obnoxious and puerile and infantile and has an irritating meta tone so snide that it's constantly in danger of nullifying the entire movie -- and I still got a pretty big kick out of it.
It's fun for a while, and then it all becomes deeply disheartening, because calling attention to the more businesslike mechanics of superheroics isn't subversive when you're also playing right into them.
Audience Reviews for Deadpool
Deadpool is the most asinine superhero ever. His character is insufferable, and the story structure is clunky. Sound, costumes and acting are better than usual, but I don't understand why anyone would claim to have enjoyed watching this bipolar fantasy.
Some jokes were good, but most of them were juvenile sex jokes on the order of "That's what she said", and most unforgivably--two of them were well-known old chestnuts, the one about the brown pants and the Thanksgiving and Christmas legs. Solid, fairly creative action scenes but at times too gory for me, especially with Wade Wilson's vulnerable skin disfigurement. The boyfriend coaxed me to watch this on the plane, and I'm just glad I didn't pay to see this.
Okay for what it was. I don't really like this type of movie.

|Wade Wilson/Deadpool:||Here's what I'm actually gonna do. I'm gonna work through his crew until somebody gives up Francis, force him to fix this, then put a bullet in his skull and fuck the brain hole!|
|Weasel:||I don't want to see that or think of it again.|
