Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool is a fun concept. The movie is a very creative outlier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, really branching out in the world of superheroes and bad guys. Deadpool is a unique character, and the movie is very raunchy and comedically violent, its excuse being that Deadpool himself is an antihero and isn't subject to the rules that heroes and villains often must follow in the franchise. Tim Miller's directorial debut is a smash hit, and Ryan Reynolds played his character well. Hats off to the cast and crew for this hilariously unique Marvel piece.

This is my comfort movie. Wade Wilson’s witty humor is unbelievably funny, something that is brought out further by Ryan Reynolds’s portrayal. The film’s use of fourth wall break combined with perfect timing is always a great. It has many tidbits for Marvel fans and won’t let them down. But even if you’re not a huge Marvel fan, this is still a treat.
