Russ G 5d The always reliable James Gleason gets top billing in one of his several turns as Inspector Piper, this time opposite Zasu Pitts as Miss Withers. The script writers aimed for more comedy than mystery though it's a hit-or-miss effort saved only by its 62 minute brevity. Not god awful by B movie standards of its time but not worthy of a cimematic bucket list, either. See more Kate B Aug 20 Actually, it was bad. Not so bad it was good, or so bad it was bad. Just bad. Without Zasu Pitts, it would have been so bad it was bad. But the occasional Zasu moment of comic relief brought a smidge of entertainment to this godawful script, and godawful acting, just enough to make it simply bad. (Darling Hubby insisted on the 3 star rating. He was feeling kind toward Zasu. Really, it's a 2-star bad.) See more Read all reviews
