Susan D 02/02/2025 Whats not to like about this classic?! Bill Murray progresses through all of the stages of becoming a truly wonderful human being with a comedic timing that is unsurpassed. From the arrogant star, through finding ways to get selfishly what he wants from anyone, to finding what it takes to be genuine with his feelings to make his best selfand finding out that his humble self has finally found love, peace, and happiness. Its a lesson we all can benefit from while memorizing the most hilarious lines you will find yourself using in your own life. We have seen it hundreds of times, but the line is always that weve only seen it once.over and over again!! It takes a simple idea and turns it into something surprisingly deep, funny, and heartfelt. Bill Murray is excellent as Phil, and his performance makes the whole time-loop story feel believable and engaging from start to finish. What makes the movie so special is how it balances comedy with real emotional growth. It is hilarious without losing its meaning, and it slowly becomes a story about change, self-improvement, and finding purpose. The writing is sharp, the pacing is strong, and every repeat of the same day adds something new instead of feeling boring. Overall, Groundhog Day is endlessly entertaining, clever, and memorable. It is one of those classics that been watched by everyone who likes movies and beyond. The plot here is enginues. Man must relive same day over and over again until he learn to be ... good to others. It is such a wonderful premise and idea that I later was re-used in many movies and TV shows. Writing and directing by Harold Ramis was flawless - for me this is his best work. At running time 1 h 38 min this is an excellently paced film. Great acting by Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Overall, "Groundhog Day" is a classic for a reason. It has unique and great premise, very good script, great performances and the the top notch directing. This film has stood the test of time and it is an superbly rewatchable film. Great movie.
