Given that any doc produced by an act's management company arrives with suspicions that it'll be a glorified EPK, that middle act here is a good, surprisingly candid one - and, actually, the plucky bookends aren't bad, either. Go to Full Review

As comeback documentaries go, it's a suitably flattering portrait of a band looking to tour again... As an in-depth analysis of how and why the Jonas Brothers ever happened in the first place, it falls sadly short. Go to Full Review

At times, Chasing Happiness feels more like a therapy reel for the Jonas Brothers than a documentary for their fans. Go to Full Review
Rob Harvilla The Ringer 07/08/2019
Chasing Happiness has a familiar and pleasing rise-and-fall-and-rise arc from ungodly success to grim disillusionment to triumphant rebirth. Go to Full Review

Rather than being a tribute to the enduring bonds of family, [the documentary] seemed to turn the group's brotherhood into just another marketing tool or piece of merchandise, like a beach towel or doll. Go to Full Review

Chasing Happiness offers a substantial, mature look at the brothers and their story that can even be enjoyed by people who aren't fans of their music. Go to Full Review

01/26/2021 It's cool if you want the history of the Jo Bros but it's really not an interesting story. The worst thing that happened to them is that Nick was diagnosed with diabetes when he was young. See more 04/27/2020 This documentary really gives a new perspective on the story of Jonas as brothers and not only as a band. See more 04/26/2020 Anthony Mandler directs the 2nd concert film of the famous boy trio band of siblings  It's been over 10 years since the Jonas Brothers left the music industry and a lot has transpired The thing is the parting needed to happen for several reasons; One in particular is that each of them needed to find themselves, where they fit into the world moving on from getting their fame back on the Disney Channel in the ‘Camp Rock' movies Another is that one member usually overshadows the others, not all of them were in sync with one another so there had to be some structure for each piece to work as a whole  Kevin, Nick, and Joe have been doing bigger and better things since they have been absent from the mainstream yet their fan base has been going strong Joe has been doing some solo albums and currently is with Sophie Turner from ‘Game of Thrones', Nick has become an active member of the LGBTQ, also made his own solo music, and married Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, and Kevin became a business entrepreneur in terms of social media as well as a husband and a father of two  Now the Jonas Brothers want to continue being friends but also brothers on the same wavelength  There's hope to have a family dynamic all the way through and maybe even bury some much needed baggage that's probably been lingering around  Kevin, Nick, and Joe will always have each other's backs through the best of times and the worst; it's also their fans that's keep them grounded much like their loved ones  Famous or not bands get together, break up, keep in touch, and reunite at some point to grow even closer than ever The Jonas Brothers are no exception, they are brothers for life forever leaving such an influence on the music industry affecting so many in various ways  This is a much more grown-up, in-depth perspective into their continuing lives in and out of the spotlight See more 03/20/2020 Rich and successful boys talking about how hard it is to be rich and successful. That's rich! See more Chris L 02/23/2020 There’s a predictable balance here of self-promotion and fan service, but the family dynamics and back story add interest and complexity to what could have been a more standard promotional band documentary. See more 02/03/2020 Cheesy beyond belief. If you're a Jonas Bros fan you may still enjoy it, but it's phony and gag worthy otherwise. Doesn't even have much good music. Disney special.
