The audacity is in believing the world needed a chapter 2, before even seeing Chapter 1. While it lacks the inventiveness of franchises like John Wick, it has enough action to keep you entertained. Go to Full Review

Predictable and forgettable yet also watchable, One Mile: Chapter One is Ryan Phillippe's midlife crisis comeback film. Go to Full Review

André D @RT63576551 2d A pleasant surprise this movie, has a very cool development between a father who distanced himself from his daughter and family because of the army, the dialogues gradually evolve to reconciliation during the trip between the father and daughter, and from there the action part enters, a type of faction that seeks 16-year-old women to procreate, the fight scenes are well done, the head of the guild appears in a few moments, but has an impact. It made me want to watch part 2, great movie. See more ARNEZ C. @Arny6tearz 2d Really enjoyed this Ryan kicked a lot of booty in this one this plot was crazy but you don't mess with a man's kid. Trying to earn her favor, they can't find a place to stay and stop to camp in a place where weirdos are needing a girl to give birth. See more David B @Rayskins Feb 27 This is definitely worth the watch. It is a great movie with a terrific storyline. The acting is great. Ryan Philippe does a great job playing the hero and C. Thomas Howell plays a great villain. I love the twist at the end. Looking forward to seeing chapter 2. See more Joseph B. @RT16134486 Feb 26 Worth the watch… but… Ryan Phillippe does a great job playing the humble father. Plot: nothing really unpredictable. Feel good underdog- revenge- root for the good guys narrative arc. The writing for Part One raises a few questions. I wonder if the writers could have developed Phillippe’s character? For example, his military background and training. His character is likable and more depth would easily transform into a present day “Harry Bosch” type. His daughter, Amélie Hoeferle, also shows so much potential when given the lines to speak and more of a performance to perform rather than the first third of the film where she plays the obstinate stereotypical teenage daughter who is glued to her phone and earbuds. Again: more dialogue, here, may have helped to strengthen the viewer’s connection with the characters and hit the viewers closer to home on the heartstrings. Lastly, the villains. The concept was there but a little deeper development like “True Detective” season one development of the bad guys may have easily taken this movie to award winning. Instead, here, we are left with more of a cookie cutter “Taken.” Not sure what the budget was but for 90 minutes… it seemed forced at times and rather vanilla. I’m hoping Chapter Two raises the game. Again, worth the watch, and with the correct writing and budget this could evolve into a Jack Ryan or Bosch type of series. Happy viewing. See more Carrie N. @HunterNiedz Feb 26 "One Mile: Chapter One is a gripping, high-stakes survival thriller that perfectly sets the stage for an epic two-part journey. Ryan Phillippe delivers one of the most grounded and intense performances of his career as a father pushed to his absolute breaking point. What makes this film stand out is its restraint; it doesn't rely on mindless action, but instead builds a thick, suffocating sense of dread as the protagonist's daughter is taken by a mysterious, cult-like community. The cinematography captures the isolation of the setting beautifully, making every mile feel like an eternity. It’s an emotional, slow-burn pressure cooker that leaves you breathless by the time the credits roll. If you’re looking for a thriller with brains, heart, and legitimate stakes, this is it. I'm diving into Chapter Two immediately!". NICE WORK RYAN! See more Read all reviews
