It's more polished than what I've seen from SyFy's Maneater series but it's still a barebones b-horror with awful special effects and an over serious tone.
Four annoying idiots and three perky-breasted young lovelies go on a road trip only to find their Oscar-worthy performances violently interrupted by a giant, astoundingly poor CGI bird and a bunch of murderous Irish gypsies. Fans of wasting valuable time or not enjoying yourself should check this out immediately!
It's probably the only (arguably) creepy Syfy flick. Cheesy, but very enjoyable. A pleasant surprise. 44/100
The beast in Roadkill is supposed to be a Roc. The Roc from Greek mythology, or even Dungeons and Dragons, was large enough to destroy a huge boat. The Roc in Roadkill is a little bigger than the RV that it terrorizes. It also looks like a skinless condor. Couple that with the fact that the animation is almost as good as Ray Harryhausenâ??s workâ?¦in the early 1960â??sâ?¦and you have a barely workable story that then sucker punches you in the face with laughable special effects.
Usual bad CGI and typical plot, only less so. It's pretty much a long chase scene with minor drama and uninteresting titbits. It gets fairly dull and the creature isn't around much, not to mention a long drawn out ending that goes no where.
This was kinda like Wrong Turn with pterodactyls. For a Syfy original, it wasn't all that bad. It wasn't great either, but there's a touch of suspense here and there, a few bouncing boobies, and we even have a couple half eaten faces. Three cheers for half eaten faces!
A group of American (sort of) steal an ancient charm from a gypsy, and then totally run over an old gypsy lady when they scarper. Moments later they start to be picked off by a giant bird beastie, all the time also pursued by the gypsy gang hoping to reclaim the missing amulet. Ridiculous as you like and as low budget as it comes but a few good laughs to be had.
It could of been better. Not really a horror and not really scary. It was okay. A one off movie to watch.
Contains Spoilers: The Movie was good but the ending seemed kind of rushed to me.. and what was up with the girl pointing the shotgun at that guy at the end than wiping the blood on her face of that guy she liked and shooting into the sky.... it just left me thinking what the hell just happened... weird ending i couldn't understand the last 15 minutes at all.
The rest of the movie was good though the ending just killed it. the bird should of been killed when it was in that big explosion, but it just happened to stay alive and that whole fire thing was considered to be the weakness of it... and so much was built around the story that the bird was weak to fire Just Stupid... that the bird managed to kill the last guy remaining anyway,
It's not excellent, but I still enjoyed it. Especially the ending.... "Oh, Crap!".... made me laugh.
