Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ House of My Father (2012) Julian Lytle Casa De Mi Padre is a witty and fun comedy and is totally worth going to see. Even if you don't like reading subtitles you should make an exception and check this out. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
D Man of Steel (2013) Julian Lytle In this quick fast episode, I go into a bit more on why I dislike the Man of Steel film EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ Act of Valor (2012) Julian Lytle It's like watching beautifully film training exercises to sell people on signing up for the military. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C Rampart (2011) Julian Lytle So Rampart, is it some great character study and powerful film? Maybe to some but not really. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B John Carter (2012) Julian Lytle It has the all the things you want out of the big summertime release with adventure, a cool hero, an interesting love interest, and big-time effects. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
D Man on a Ledge (2012) Julian Lytle A plain and tired heist movie with an interesting setup that is basically wasted with a lame script and uninspired performances throughout the entire piece. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ Safe House (2012) Julian Lytle Probably so, it was fun and does what it does pretty well. Don't go in looking for a transcendent experience of film cause that's not what it is supposed to do. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ Arrietty (2010) Julian Lytle Children will very much entertained by all that is going on here. It has enough fun and comedy along with a great sense of adventure through the film. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
A Carnage (2011) Julian Lytle Overall Carnage is really funny comedy and worth seeing. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ Haywire (2011) Julian Lytle Haywire is a good revenge film. This is a nice little Soderbergh snack for his fans until his next big time release. Gina Carano is pretty good in this and shows a nice sexiness and toughness that you don't see much on the big screen. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C- Red Tails (2012) Julian Lytle See the thing with Red Tails is that it really isn't that great of the movie. So if you go unless you don't have a decent standard of movie taste you most likely won't like and will be left wanting more. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
F The Devil Inside (2012) Julian Lytle In the end The Devil Inside is another in a long line of films trying recapture the original magic of the Exorcist. The mixing of this with found footage style of inexpensive movie making along with poor overall execution leads to an overall fail. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B Contraband (2012) Julian Lytle This is a film where you have to have to take some things as they are. There are some twists and turns that you will see coming. Maybe a mile away but it's all still enjoyable. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) Julian Lytle The film also at times drags on a bit too long. It seems trying to fit in a little bit of time from each year of the war was a bit too much and not needed to get across the themes and point of the film. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
A The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Julian Lytle The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo really is a stand out film of 2011. It's one of the strongest Dramas you can see this season. It isn't for the faint of heart though EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ The Adventures of Tintin (2011) Julian Lytle Everyone will enjoy such a visually lush and exciting world adventure. It's like New Old Raiders of the Lost Ark. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ War Horse (2011) Julian Lytle For the most part this film is very manipulative with how it's trying to tug at your feelings. Most are going to call this one of the best films of the season or year but while this picture is executed superbly it's not really earned its heart one bit. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ My Week With Marilyn (2011) Julian Lytle You should really take some time and check this out. It's a great performance piece by Williams and a well-told coming of age story. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ The Muppets (2011) Julian Lytle This movie is a great return of great characters to stage that entertain both old and bring in new fans to the felt world of Jim Henson. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol (2011) Julian Lytle The stakes are high in the movie but it's not to dark and still fun at the same time. It's also very fun to watch a Mission Impossible movie where the tech fails them over and over. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C- Tower Heist (2011) Julian Lytle In the end Tower Heist is serviceable not great or something to run right out to see opening night. It might be great to watch on constant TNT reruns in the future though. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B In Time (2011) Julian Lytle Overall this film isn't heavy sci fi but it is a pretty fun ride and good sci fi film with some good use of themes and concepts that are resonating with current goings on in the world. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B 3 (2011) Julian Lytle Overall 3 is a very engaging film with it's look on a long standing relationship. There is no real Hollywood type of way they solve their issues or have epiphanies about problems in their lives at the right perfect moment. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
D- Jack and Jill (2011) Julian Lytle Save your hard earned recession gotten money and either see something else that in theaters or watch the Family Guy or something. Anything is better than this. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B Tucker & Dale vs Evil (2010) Julian Lytle In the end this was a very surprising film that was lots of fun. Had a nice bit of gore. And a ton of heart. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
A The Ides of March (2011) Julian Lytle This film is great on many levels, from entertainment to technical. Clooney has made with The Ides of March the post honeymoon period of the Obama era film. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ Real Steel (2011) Julian Lytle Even though the story is paint by numbers and there really isn't anything new being done in this it is still pretty enjoyable. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
A Drive (2011) Julian Lytle It was a surprising Action Crime Drama that totally has you in the end of your seat anticipating on what will happen next. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
C+ Killer Elite (2011) Julian Lytle It's not fine cinema and it's not going to win any awards but you also won't feel like you didn't get what you came for. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
D Apollo 18 (2011) Julian Lytle In other words, this found footage should've stayed hidden. EDIT
Posted Jan 11, 2020
B+ Kick-Ass (2010) Julian Lytle In the end this a great start to the big movie season and a fine first salvo of this year's comic property based movies line up. EDIT
