A century before the events of "Game of Thrones," two unlikely heroes wander Westeros. In an adaption of George R. R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight," a young and naive but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg, face a series of dangerous exploits. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and images of the last dragon have not yet passed from living memory, great destinies and powerful foes await these improbable and incomparable friends.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a welcome return to Westeros that works better in the buddy-comedy arena rather than solely slaying its competition.

Audience Says

Way more dopey than GoT, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms offers a refreshing, low stakes return to Westeros anchored by the endearing duo of Egg and Dunk.

By creating a more humane world in a landscape that feels increasingly unmanageable, a story that insists on small acts of goodness is almost radical. Go to Full Review

It became a solid series thanks to its tonal divergence from its parent series, offering a much more intimate story with endearing characters. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms provides a lot of hope. This series is what I needed after the disastrous ending of Game of Thrones and the mess that is House of the Dragon. Go to Full Review

The roughness and violence we’ve come to expect from Martin’s world are still prominent, though they’re not the main focus. Instead, the show plays out as a coming-of-age story that’s closer to The Princess Bride than your average grim medieval tale. Go to Full Review

binley B @binley_beng69 16h what an unusually tall and boring man See more Eric R. @ericrazzy 1d Like others, I can’t see how anybody who has actually watched this could give it 3+ stars. Painfully slow, silly dialogue, cliches, etc. See more Ian T @RT65798614 3d I wish the producers of other TV of House of The Dragon and Game of Thrones can watch Knight of The Seven Kingdoms and understand how it has to be done, and why they should've listened to George instead of acting out of pure ego. Maybe they thought could understand the source material better than its creator. Here, you can immediately tell that George has much more power over the script because the quality of the writing, the character arcs, and the dialogues stays consistently high, as opposed to HOTD, which was inconsistent since the first episode. Sure, that other show also had some well-written moments, but then immediately after you would have to endure through painfully ridiculous scenes, like Daemon defeating an entire army by himself. Knight of The Seven Kingdoms stays true to its nature, it immediately makes you connect with the characters, it never loses pace and it keeps growing in tension, delivering precise and emotional twists. See more Matt K. @matthewking 4d How does the GOT universe never fail to disappoint (excluding the final season of original GOT)? The relationship between Egg and Duncan was brilliantly fun and complex. Excited for the seasons to come. See more David H. @dheaps035 4d Went into this blind. So glad I did. Loved every bloody second. Best GOT in years. Very much looking forward to season two. See more Tejaswin W @RT55403769 5d This is like if game of thrones was good See more Read all reviews
