Because we're watching this in 2025, the stakes feel even higher. Episode 6 broke me. Go to Full Review

The series is far from perfect. It does betray some of the maker’s own biases and leanings, but it is still engaging. And it tackles an issue as sensitive as the Partition with the respect and tenderness it deserves. Go to Full Review

Despite the dramatics, creative liberties and some dubious casting decisions, the handsomely produced series reveals how liberation from colonial rule was achieved at a heavy, horrible and lasting price. Go to Full Review

Sharang L @Scribe187 Apr 8 Season 2 marks the fitting end to this ambitious show that sets itself the thankless challenge of chronicling India's birth as an independent state. It's far from perfect. Still, the effort is laudable and the result is rousing for the most part. See more Bot A @Botingle Feb 2 There's no other movie or show like this one, so real , so perfect. But it is a little bit more sided with British and Hindus. But still no other show can take its place. See more Sparsh H @RT58208603 Jan 15 Take a Bow Nikkhil Advani...! I had red the book almost a decade ago, and there are many new and fictional scenes in the series which makes it more interesting and entertaining. Many scenes were emotionally so heavy. Nikkhil Advani achieved that very fine balance from where he is not serving any right or left political ideology of current time, and showing a good and unbiased version of history. This is one of the finest cine/web adaptation of anything related to Indian history. A masterpiece indeed. Loved 2nd season more than 1st. 1st was little boring and I wasn't looking forward for 2nd, but thank God I decided to watch it. See more Prabhathalovesmovies T @RT63593846 Jan 15 The second season of Freedom At Midnight is an important reminder of the foundation of our constitutional values. The very secularism that Jawaharlal Nehru talked about has become a mere piece of paper in today's world thanks to the politically divisive environment. Nikhil Advani along with his writers don't romanticize independence. The human paradox of freedom has come out in an impactful manner.
