Literature professor Harriet "Harry" Wild is at one of life's crossroads and having difficulty adjusting to retirement. She reluctantly agrees to stay at the home of her police detective son, Charlie, after she is mugged and needs time to recover. Charlie rebuffs Harry's offer to help when she notices a striking clue in the current murder case he is investigating, so she decides to solve the crime herself with some help from an unexpected source -- her teen mugger, Fergus. Harry and Fergus become partners in new mysteries, much to the chagrin of Charlie.

Liam Fay The Times (UK) 07/05/2022
Implausibility mounts at every turn. Despite the chief protagonist’s pedantic fixation with lucid expression and correct usage, the show is a rambling muddle that often makes no sense. Go to Full Review
Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald 04/01/2022
Jane Seymour is such a joy to watch that this slight and slightly silly amateur-sleuth series immediately becomes something you could easily idle away a couple of hours on. Go to Full Review
Eilis O'Hanlon Sunday Independent (Ireland) 07/06/2022
There’s nothing wrong with dark humour, but the show didn’t commit to the mood enough to make the pay-off feel earned. Go to Full Review

2/5
It’s old-fashioned, lightweight tosh with an ultimately tiresome and irritating lead character. Go to Full Review
Joel Keller Decider 04/05/2022
Harry Wild stars a very game Jane Seymour in the most dynamic role she’s had in some time. But the mysteries and backstories need to be tightened up for the show to succeed. Go to Full Review
Anne Brodie What She Said 04/01/2022
If all this sounds like a flight of unbelievable fancy, it is, but Seymour’s having fun hamming it up, asking her son for weed and being generally outrageous. Go to Full Review

Laura N @RT88477351 3d Cozy wonderful mystery. Full of lovable characters. Funny, intelligent, captivating and easy to escape into. See more Alicia W @Leicey Dec 24 I believe that people are so used to watching smut that they cannot recognize clean acting. The show is educational and inspiring , especially how she encourages the one who robbed her to become a better man. The show had literature references that most people haven’t read ,but should. See more Sharron H @RT34207097 Oct 28 Never have I seen such utter rubbish. Jane Seymour doesn't even make this show worth watching. Stories are ridiculous, plotlines ridiculous and frankly have no idea what it is even about at the end of the show. Lets face it, half of the so called characters that she plays are the worst acting ever!, Maybe its meant to be funny but it really isnt. Gave up half way through number 2 when I realised that basically its about a woman who is a wanna be copper whose son who is a copper is rubbish at his job end of story. See more Christy J @RT37035461 Aug 26 I love UK “who dun its” like Midsummer Murders, Shakespeare and Hathaway, Madame Blanc Mysteries, and am fairly easily entertained but Harry Wild is just plain terrible. The protagonist played by Jane Seymour is just ridiculous, over the top and unbelievable. I can see why Harry’s son doesn’t like her. She takes rudeness to the next level. It’s not even funny how horrible she is to people. And not that clever really. The story plots are pretty predictable and characters are pretty one dimensional. I tried 4 episodes of season 1 and had to quit. See more Cynthia R @RT70135327 May 18 I am only on the 1st season and I have no respect for the fact that the main character is having an affair with a married man. See more Jeanne S @RT11239329 10/22/2023 It definitely makes you have to suspend some believability. That's OK though, because I'm looking for escape, and this show offers it. Fergus is a darling character. Harry and Fergus together are actually quite charming. I am a teacher, so I'm rooting for the teacher. See more Read all reviews
