In each episode, members of the public nominate local heroes from across Yorkshire to receive a bespoke, handmade piece of wooden furniture to recognise the work they do for their community, often going above and beyond. Jay hears first-hand what makes each local hero special and why they are deserving of this thank you. Jay gives the task of making the items to one of his three experts in the workshop. Details Episode 2 Aired Aug 25, 2021 Angie, a matron at Airedale General Hospital in West Yorkshire, nominates a local primary school, St. Anne's in Keighley; during lockdown, children from the school fundraised for the hospital, raising over ten times their initial £200 target. Details Episode 3 Aired Sep 8, 2021 David, a sheep farmer from the Yorkshire Dales, wants to nominate another farmer Sam, for a surprise thank you. Details Episode 4 Aired Sep 15, 2021 Jez and Shane from Huddersfield come to the workshop to tell Jay about a guy known as Mr. Bob. Details Episode 5 Aired Sep 22, 2021 Ex-RAF serviceman Tony comes to the workshop to tell Jay about fellow veteran Paul, who suffered problems such as homelessness when he left the forces; Paul went on to set up a charity in Hull to help other former service men and women. Details Episode 6 Aired Sep 29, 2021 Jules and Jackie come to the workshop to tell Jay about their son Henry who saved Jules's life when the pair were in the countryside; Jules collapsed with a heart attack and 12-year-old Henry administered CPR and called the emergency services.
