Meet Dino, Ben and Jonathan, longtime best friends navigating high-school waters in Seattle. Being teenagers, their minds are preoccupied with sex pretty much all the time. The twist here is that they actually talk about it -- with one another and with the camera -- as do their girlfriends. So what do their relationships look like? Dino, the school's star hockey player, dates soccer player Jackie, Ben is carrying on a relationship with one of his teachers, and Jonathan's girlfriend is witty Brit Deborah, Jackie's best friend.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Life as We Know It might be too risqué for some viewers, but the teen drama tackles relationships in a nuanced manner.

[Life as We Know It's] camerawork is imaginative throughout, but unfortunately the insights offered in these confessionals are uniformly trite. Go to Full Review

I was resistant to Life as We Know It at first, but it won me over. What seems prurience for prurience's sake turns out to be a good bit richer, kind of like My So-Called Sex Life. Go to Full Review

It's a little bit smart, a little bit silly, and all but entirely smitten with sex. Fun stuff all around, I suppose, but you'll be wishing for a "Very Special Abstinence Episode" after just a few short hours. Go to Full Review

This primetime high school drama is an oversexed Saved by the Bell that is far better than The O.C. Go to Full Review

Life as We Know It offers a primer on high school, and especially teenaged boys, exactly right now. Go to Full Review

05/30/2020 Incredible show. The acting is alright, but it's a teen drama so it's on par with that. It's comedy, cute, sweet, vulgar, and flows smoothly. Sean Faris is especially great. It's a bummer that ABC executives aren't very smart and tried running it against The OC when it was in its second and biggest season. Enjoy the show if you have the chance. See more Read all reviews
