Comic Aziz Ansari and writer Alan Yang are the creators of this Netflix-original comedy, which is loosely based on Ansari's real-life experiences. Ansari plays the role of Dev, a New York-based actor who is struggling to identify what he really wants, both personally and professionally. The series reveals glimpses of Dev's younger years, and explores current aspects of his life, including modern etiquette (regarding texting and social media), and being young and single in the city. Other important people in Dev's life are featured, including Dev's parents, played by Ansari's real-life mother and father, Fatima and Shoukath.

Jazzmin H @jazzminbree Jan 27 Makes you want to travel. Makes you want to make pasta. Makes you want to find the one (if you haven't already). Makes you question what truly makes you happy. See more BB M May 4 Season 2 of Master of None starts off with promise. The early episodes, especially those set in Italy, are interesting and show off the series’ unique charm and realistic character development. But that energy fizzles out mid season when the show shifts its focus to the will-they-won’t-they drama between Dev and Francesca. What begins as a playful friendship turns into a stereotypical slow, joyless slog of relationship angst that drags down the rest of the season. The clever writing and humor take a backseat, replaced by moody silences and drawn-out glances. Worst of all, it ends on an unresolved cliffhanger that never gets revisited, leaving viewers feeling more frustrated than intrigued. Enjoy the early episodes, then turn it off once the romantic spiral begins. It doesn’t get better. See more Kendri M 06/14/2024 Difficult not love Aziz Ansari. The final season was plodding & tedious ... and relatively uninteresting. See more Read all reviews
