One of the best things about the series is that you simply never know who's going to cop it next.
These are memorable characters and are given terrific dialogue, though holding it all together is [Brendan] Gleeson's charismatic turn as the crotchedy but decent Bill, intent on doing the right thing in his dogged pursuit of truth and justice.

Mar 31, 2021This season really could've gone horribly wrong after the arc of the first two seasons has mostly been wrapped up, but it was surprisingly good. I still liked the first season better, but this was at least as good as the second. Harry Treadaway's absence is noticeable, but the show very much feels like one, complete story.

Mar 15, 2021I was so intrigued by the characters and stories of all 3 seasons. I thought the characters were really brought to life with all the main actors. This series had me hooked right from the first season. Well done.

Mar 06, 2021I did not enjoy Season 3 as much as the first 2 seasons. The first 2 seasons had intense story lines and kept you on the edge of your seat. Unfortunately, this season tends to focus too much on violence and not enough suspense or as good of a story line as the first 2 seasons. Personally, based on how much I enjoyed watching the first 2 seasons, I am disappointed. Whereas I didn't want the first 2 seasons to end, I couldn't wait for this one to be over. Also, I like the characters in the first 2 seasons but could not connect with any of the new characters in this season. They just fell flat for me.

Feb 19, 2021The first two seasons weren't perfect? But they were fast paced and creepy, even scary at times. The third season is boring by comparison, no fault of the actors. Plotwise, you can tell they were scraping to come up with something, and honestly they failed. They connect the new criminals to the other seasons by the barest thread, then dump a ton of exposition to try and explain why Hodges would get involved, and it doesn't work. Some dude who wrote three books, and they spend the whole season begging you to believe he could be this important to every character involved. And the dreams where he visits Hodges---is that in any way going to compare with his interactions with Mr. Mercedes? After two seasons of Harry Treadaway's harrowing performance, now we're supposed to be scared by his silhouette and an ice cream truck? Most of the scenes are just the characters sitting around rehashing what we already know and a lot of plotlines go absolutely nowhere. I think it would've been better to create a plot out of Mr. Mercedes s2 powers, but maybe they couldn't get Harry Treadaway to re-create the role? Instead, we get a third season in a row of the Evil Woman making a poor boy go bad, and a second child molester. They reached, but they didn't reach far enough to find anything interesting or entertaining.

Jan 26, 2021I think at this point the series should come to a natural conclusion. This series deals with the aftermath of Bradys actions and subsequent death, but feels like its searching for something more that doesn't engage the viewer remotely as effective as the hypnotic first or slow-burn second. The characters are always enjoyable to watch, but stretching a thin story and minus Brady, the stakes couldn't be more low.
-
Jan 09, 2021Alma and Morris's characters and acting saved the show from being quite tedious .
-
Dec 21, 2020For us the cursing and swearing just got to be too much, the foul language seemed to worsen as season went on. It turned us off to the point we won't be watching the next series. Overall we did enjoy the show, twist and turns, Stephen King is a mastermind.
-
Dec 14, 2020This is one of the few shows that is actually worth watching right now. Its smart, suspenseful, with a perfectly tight plot.
-
Jan 28, 2020Predictable. The acting was a real letdown. Each season has gotten worse. I cannot believe King was involved in this. Do not waste your precious time on this. Throughout this series some of the best performances have come from the villains. Apart from that, Jharrel Jerome was great, but they really pulled back on his story line. If you like horror, watch Haunting of Hill House or Penny Dreadful.
