On Nov. 3, 2016, Kala Brown, 30, is found chained to a wall inside a shipping container on Todd Kohlhepp's property in Woodruff, S.C. Brown is held captive for two months after witnessing the shooting death of her boyfriend, Charles David Carver, 32. Following her rescue, Brown reveals to investigators that her captor is responsible for many more crimes than the police ever suspected. Ultimately, Kohlhepp pleads guilty to seven murders. In Investigation Discovery's three-part limited series, investigative journalist Maria Awes sets out to learn the true extent of the serial killer's crimes, the ones authorities know about and the additional one he claims to have committed. Joined by former FBI profiler John Douglas ("Mindhunter") and Kohlhepp biographer Gary Garrett, Awes takes a chilling journey into the heart of darkness.

Jan V @RT50475020 04/23/2022 Just watched the first 3 parts of this series. The lead journalist is very annoying, and clearly just in the game to push herself forward. The serial killer is somewhat glorified, which does not sit well with me either. Subject matter is very interesting, execution ruins it somewhat. I'll skip the rest and read the wiki instead.
