Critics Consensus

The Muppets lend their star power to an Oscar night dominated by Kramer vs. Kramer and Dustin Hoffman's two memorable speeches, but the tastefully restrained evening did little to liven up the overall predictability of its winners.

Producer Howard Koch and director Marty Pasetta shouldn't be blamed for the inevitable slowdowns caused by thank-you acceptance speeches, but they deserve applause for a splendid production number called Dancin' on the Silver Screen.
