The scripts by David Nobbs are nicely offbeat. And, as Reginald. Leonard Rossiter is perfectly stiff‐upper‐lip nutty. Go to Full Review

Oddly, though while the humor leans toward the incontrovertibly silly, there is a wistful, poignant core to it take makes this far more than just a parade of abrasive jokes in the slicko style of the American sit-com. Go to Full Review

The first season in particular is a marvel. As a man losing his grip on his sanity, Rossiter plays to the reality of the situation more than the silliness. Go to Full Review

The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin is such an inventive sitcom and is filled with so many imminently quotable characters that it makes you wonder why it's had such a comparatively low profile here in the States. Go to Full Review

As a long-running hit show, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, doesn't quite register today. Rossiter, however, is brilliant to watch no matter what. Go to Full Review

It's a huge pleasure to watch the enormous comic talent that was Leonard Rossiter descending into his campaigns of subversion and anti-propaganda. Go to Full Review

Test T @TestTest1 Nov 1 I watched this on DVD recently. Generally I found it very amusing to watch and occasionally extremely funny. The story is interesting, addressing many everday experiences of life which are still relatable even now over three decades after it was made. I thought the character development and acting was excellent, and it appeared that the cast were enjoying their work and giving their all throughout. Whilst very good, the series is not without flaws, one obvious one being that the image quality of the early episodes is sub par compared to the others. Another general issue is the sound quality, and I often found myself struggling to hear all of the dialogue clearly, even after increasing the volume. That said, this series is absolute classic comedy gold, and I would rate it only slightly below Fawlty Towers which I think is the best TV comedy ever made. In summary, I highly reccomend this series, but you will need to make technical allowances for it's age. See more Jim P @RT08384096 01/04/2025 Amazing show.
