This show was sooooo good, I can't believe how many people have never even heard of this show. Not only was it fun (ok, and a bit campy - but cute) but -WOW- Vincent Ventresca could eat a ham sandwich and I'd watch for hours. The show is about Darien Fawkes (V.V.) who is a petty thief, who just has bad luck. He's facing life in prison -OR- his brother, Kevin, (who is a world renowned brilliant scientist) has an offer for him to become a 'human-guinea pig' by allowing his brother to insert a 'Quicksilver gland' into his brain which causes Fawkes to control becoming invisible. Side note: There was a side effect called, "Quicksilver madness" - without a shot every couple days, he would go crazy - like mad dog killer cra-cra!! Some stuff happens to end the 'trial' and Fawkes learns his true purpose: To Become a Spy for The Federal Government!! Of course a former thief wants nothing to do solving crimes for the Feds - but realizes he's controlled by them as he needs these shots. He gets a partner - Bobby Hobbs, who's not that attractive (although he thinks being a spy makes him such) - and they quickly become 2 peas in a pod. They play off of each other so well... it's funny and exciting to see what these 2 are up to next. Hobbs often plays like he's James Bond, but he comes across more as a bumbling idiot, and yet, there is a certain charm to him. Either he knows what he's doing deep down, or he's just lucky. Very similar to Colombo (if you're old enough to remember that character). Even funnier is each week they come up with a new agency they work for - such as Dept. of Game and Wildlife, or Dept. of Weights and Measurements etc. since Fawkes was so classified, he and the 4 people he worked with, didn't really exist. Their adventures and cases they solve are so much fun. This show has action, laughs, love, loss, trust or lack of trust etc. there's something for everyone. I promise, you will LOVE this show!! I was so saddened when the sci-fi network canceled it, but I understand it was expensive (at that time, 2000) to create the Quicksilver effects and they weren't making enough from their viewership - it's so sad.
