Jeff Foxworthy portrays himself in this mid-1990s sitcom, which is roughly based on his hit stand-up comedy routines that specialize in redneck humor. The series ran for two seasons, the first on ABC that followed the comic as an Indiana family man who operated a heating and air conditioning business. (ABC, incidentally, chose the Hoosier State as the setting out of concern that the Southern-infused comedy was not suited for a national audience.) The second season aired on NBC, which revamped the cast and the plot: The family now lived in Georgia, and Foxworthy worked on a loading dock. A noted co-star is Haley Joel Osment as one of Foxworthy's sons. As it turned out, the soon-to-be movie star and Foxworthy were the only actors to appear in both seasons.

Scratch one minor mystery of the new TV season. The Jeff Foxworthy Show, picked up by ABC last spring without a pilot episode, is a stinker. Go to Full Review

Shruggable, trifling, and lighter than the airwaves it aspires to ride upon. It is likely to be one of the first new fall shows to be canceled. Go to Full Review
Hal Boedeker Orlando Sentinel 04/13/2020
The Jeff Foxworthy Show is nothing special, but Foxworthy's charm makes it more appealing than many new sitcoms, and Barone is lovely as the wife. Go to Full Review

Foxworthy hasn't broken though completely yet, and the standard sitcom format isnt likely to provide him the opportunity to get fully noticed. Worse, the early Saturday audience is not his crowd. Go to Full Review

Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 20 18 funny episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Frosty S 10/16/2024 Honestly, I loved the show. & I’m lying in bed watching season 1 right now & grinnin’. Was the show completely perfect? No. But what show isn’t without some imperfections. & sometimes that’s what helps make the show. I for one would have loved to have more episodes & seasons than what we got. But proud to say that I am forever thankful for the 2 seasons we ended up with. But that is just this Kentucky woman’s opinion. I know plenty of other people though who enjoyed the show as well & plenty who still enjoy the dvds of the 2 seasons. See more 11/27/2021 I really don't know why a lot of people had a dislike for the show. It had a classic charm it was clean, funny slice of Life plot line just as Tim the Tool man trailer I grew up watching this and his blue collar stand ups. I related to a lot of the things in the show and it was fun to watch not just Jeff being a successful country man not always perfect but happy in town but he had a down to earth style that never changed. Along with Walt and Russ they added characters I can relate and love because we all know someone like them and Jeff....This was a really good show, the second season was great as well... I wish people gave it more of a chance because there could have been a lot more that could have been delved into and even maybe some more serious episodes along the way. We got a little bit with the fact that a small town company was going up against big companies who tried to cut down mom and pop business. Unfortunately TV doesn't like it when they portrayed TV show characters of the country style or trade as competent and successful people and I think that's what primarily killed it. I still watch the two seasons on DVD when I'm just having a bad day because it's that kind of show you can enjoy. See more Read all reviews
