Toss in a couple of typically masterful performances from U2 and you have a pitch-perfect Tonight Show debut, which expertly walked the line between Fallon's former life as a late-night rabble-rouser and his new job as the face of a late-night institution
Fallon's appeal is how earnest and energetic he is: the king of comedic kindness. He has an infectious enthusiasm not marred by any of the edge or irony of other late night stalwarts.
Even at age 39, though, Fallon comes off as the kind of kid you'd like to take home to meet your middle-aged or elderly parents. He certainly can be a charmer, although sometimes you need a little roughage, too.
Neither ominous nor fatal.
Jimmy Fallon welcomed viewers to his Tonight Show Monday, introducing himself as "your host--for now." That was about as edgy as Fallon got on his first show....
Good strong start for Jimmy Fallon.
The worst thing you could say about new Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is that he's overly excited to be doing what he does...Of course, that's also the best thing you could say about Fallon
A confident opening night for the boyish Fallon.
It's good to have friends. Jimmy Fallon has a lot of them, it appears, and they sure helped to get his "Tonight Show" tenure off to a fun running start.
Makes me think that Fallon is the perfect choice to take over a TV institution, giving it both tender loving care and a much-needed shake-up.
A funny, energetic and very promising start to what will hopefully be many years of quality late-night entertainment.
All in all, his show is largely a continuation of The Tonight Show that came before...

Jan 16, 2016As British television continues to disappoint, especially from an enjoyment standpoint, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" is a great way to enjoy some much-needed American humour.
-
Oct 14, 2015Jimmy Fallon continues to be one of the funniest and most charismatic comedians to date.

Sep 30, 2015Ok, I watched the very first night and caught a few shows after that. I just watched a whole episode but it was not worth my time. I notice too from seeing some other late night stuff that everything looks and feels the same. How can all of them survive unless it's the same audience every night from 11 to 1?
-
Jun 08, 2015Fallon's genuine personality is the main problem of the show.
-
Mar 18, 2015He is like an SNL frat boy. He is not old enough to know that SNl was actually funny from 1975- 77 and not since. If there is a guest you really want to see, "tape" it on your DVR. If you keep your finger on the fast forward and mute, you might survive Jimmy's stupidity. It is better to skip the show and see the guest on Seth Myers. I hate this show.

Jan 21, 2015Fallon has all of the wit of a tumor. Stupid skits, non funny jokes, Jay Leno like shitty interview skills, etc.... Only to brain damaged mind is this tool funny.
