I found it just that little bit too cozy. The plot just moved too slow for m Go to Full Review

On its own terms, and as a drama rather than a comedy-drama, it’s fine. And, of course, the books remain, and are as clever and comforting and funny as you remember. Go to Full Review

Fans will be happy to learn that though Preissner’s adaptation shifts the action to the 2020s and alters many of Keyes’s original plot lines, her script stays tenderly true to the spirit of the Walsh sisters. Go to Full Review

Their dramas are so heady and addictive that, when the first part ended on a shocking cliffhanger, I couldn't help diving into the next. Like eavesdropping when you shouldn't, it's hard to tear yourself away. Go to Full Review

A raw, authentic portrayal of sisterhood, addiction, grief, and mental health, The Walsh Sisters feels well overdue on our screens. Go to Full Review

Steph C @Stephthewriter Mar 5 Having read all of the books I don't think I was expecting this show.... To be: As Good As it Was!! I love MK for her ability to write the shit sandwich but the books are usually overkill on the cheese for my liking. Preissner has taking old Irish 'classics' and turned them into a six episode series of heart, grit, and realistic family dynamics. I also loved the humour, yes there's a lot of gallows humour alongside the deep topics but that's realism in my opinion. As a mental illness survivor I found it accurate to show the lows alongside those rare glimmers that make you laugh on your worst day. Sure the characters need further development but ONLY because there just wasn't enough episodes to cover them all. Stellar performances by Galligan, Quinn, Harland and Menton. Bring on S2. Also for those comparing to Bad Sisters it's a completely different show that bears no resemblance and both are fabulous in their own right. See more Read all reviews
