Rarely in the spotlight, Tony Perez has kept busy as a supporting actor since 1970, signing up for guest roles in hit series such as "T.J. Hooker" and playing big-screen bit characters such as an immigration officer in "Scarface." The early '80s brought Perez his most notable role as Mike Perez in the lauded police series "Hill Street Blues," but he otherwise maintained his status as a one-and-done actor, only appearing in individual episodes of many popular programs. A co-starring part in the tense thriller "Right at Your Door" led to more TV work and, eventually, a stint on ABC's fairy-tale drama "Once Upon a Time."
