An American rapper and hip-hop artist, Cozz was born under the name Cody Osagie in Los Angeles on Oct. 1, 1993. In 2013, Cozz recorded his first demo tape and released a music video for his song "Dreams." The tape and the video garnered a lot of interest, and Cozz eventually met with J. Cole, who signed him to his label Dreamville Records, which is distributed through Interscope Records. Cozz's debut album, "Cozz and Effect," was released in October 2014. It peaked at No. 31 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and at No. 17 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Cozz went on to perform as part of the Forest Hills Drive Tour, alongside such performers as Big Sean and Bas. In January 2016, he released his first mixtape, "Nothin' Personal," and in February 2018 he released his second full-length album, "Effected," which also featured J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar.
