Dan Hicks
Born in Tucson, Arizona, sportscaster Dan Hicks began his career in radio before transitioning to television as a weekend sports anchor on Tucson's NBC affiliate, KVOA. In 1989 Hicks moved to Atlanta to cover sports for the area's CNN affiliate, before moving on to NBC Sports in 1992. At NBC Hicks was responsible for the running play-by-play commentary for golf games, but transitioned to covering Notre Dame football in 2013. Hicks also took over NFL Wildcard Saturday. Hicks was responsible for play-by-play for "The NBA on NBC" (NBC, 1990-2002), and 'The NFL on NBC". In addition to his American sports coverage for NBC, Hicks was also a major player in the network's coverage of The Olympic Games. Specifically, Hicks covered swimming, speed skating, alpine skiing, diving and tennis for the games. During his brief tenure at CNN Hicks met Hannah Storm, who worked as an anchor on ESPN "Sports Center". The couple had three children. Hicks was known for his skill as an impressionist, and once had his impression of former President Richard Nixon as the outgoing message on his answering machine.
