Actor Ed Bakey appeared on the big screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Bakey's acting career began mostly with his roles in various films, such as the Glenn Ford western "Heaven With a Gun" (1969), the action picture "Barquero" (1970) with Lee Van Cleef and the Uta Hagen thriller "The Other" (1972). He also appeared in the Paul Newman action film "The Sting" (1973) and the comedy "For Pete's Sake" (1974) with Barbra Streisand. He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Star Trek" (NBC, 1966-69). His film career continued throughout the seventies in productions like the comedy "Darktown Strutters" (1975) with Trina Parks, the Charles Bronson action flick "The White Buffalo" (1977) and "Telefon" (1977) with Charles Bronson. He also appeared in the "Hot Lead and Cold Feet" (1978) film with Jim Dale. During the latter part of his career, he continued to act in the horror film "Dead and Buried" (1982) with James Farentino and the Scott Baio comedy "Zapped!" (1982). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Bret Maverick" (NBC, 1981-82). He also was featured in the TV movie "The Georgia Peaches" (CBS, 1980-81). Bakey more recently acted in the adventurous drama "The Philadelphia Experiment" (1984) with Michael Paré.
