British actress Emily Raymond has performed on the stage and in film and television productions. Her work in Royal Shakespeare Company adaptations of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's The Rivals and Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors impressed critics during runs in Stratford-upon-Avon and London. In films, she played Helena in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream (1996) and tracked down Jack the Ripper as an aspiring journalist in Love Lies Bleeding (1999). Two TV crime dramas helped her prepare to ferret out the Ripper: A Murder of Quality (1991) and The Investigator (1997). Raymond represents the third generation of a British acting family. After her grandparents earned their keep in theater variety shows, her parents continued the performing tradition with roles in Shakespeare stage productions. Her father, Gary Raymond, also acted in TV productions (including the popular American series The Rat Patrol) and in films (including El Cid and The Greatest Story Ever Told). Her talented mother, Delena Kidd, founded the London Shakespeare Company. In 2001, Emily Raymond had the pleasure of performing with her father in the acclaimed TV miniseries Victoria and Albert, which won favorable reviews worldwide. Emily Raymond was born in Los Angeles in December 1967 while her father was on assignment in the U.S.
