Jane Wood's talent as an actress was best showcased by her dramatic film work. Wood's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the drama "The Ragman's Daughter" (1972) with Simon Rouse, the crime feature "Lassiter" (1984) with Tom Selleck and "She'll Be Wearing Pink Pyjamas" (1985) with Julie Walters. She also appeared in the comedy "Ball-Trap on the Cote Sauvage" (1989) with Jack Sheperd and "The Raggedy Rawney" (1990). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Death of a Stranger" (2000-01). Following that project, she acted on the silver screen, including roles in "Smack and Thistle" (1991) with Charlie Caine and the dramatic adaptation "Persuasion" (1995) with Amanda Root.
