Joan Standing was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Standing's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Oliver Twist" (1922) with Jackie Coogan, "Greed" (1924) with Gibson Gowland and "The Beauty Prize" (1924). She also appeared in "Counsel for the Defense" (1925). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties and the thirties, appearing in "The Campus Flirt" (1926), "Beau Sabreur" (1928) and "The Marriage Playground" (1929) with Mary Brian. She also appeared in "A Lady's Morals" (1930). During the latter part of her career, she continued to act in "Street of Chance" (1930), "The Age For Love" (1931) and "Broken Lullaby" (1932). Standing more recently acted in the Virginia Bruce dramatic adaptation "Jane Eyre" (1934).
