Mort Lindsey

Mort Lindsey brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Lindsey began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the dramedy "40 Pounds of Trouble" (1963) with Tony Curtis, "I Could Go on Singing" (1963) and the Susan Hayward dramatic adaptation "Stolen Hours" (1963). In the sixties and the eighties, Lindsey devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Best Man" (1964) starring Henry Fonda, "Way Out Games" (CBS, 1976-77) and "Real Life" (1979). He also worked on "Judy Garland: The Concert Years" (PBS, 1984-85). Lindsey was nominated for an Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction of a Primetime Emmy Award for "The Merv Griffin Show" in 1970 as well as for an Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction of a Variety Primetime Emmy Award for "The Merv Griffin Show" in 1971. In the eighties and the nineties, Lindsey lent his talents to projects like "Monopoly" (ABC, 1989-1990), "MGM: When the Lion Roars" (TNT, 1991-92) and "Merv Griffin's New Year's Eve Special" (1991-92). His credits also expanded to the Robin Williams and Gene Hackman hit "The Birdcage" (1996)Lindsey most recently worked on "Hurlyburly" (1998) with Sean Penn. Lindsey passed away in May 2012 at the age of 89.
