Tom Haydon
One of Australia's most influential and prolific documentary filmmakers, Haydon produced, directed, and wrote 28 documentary features and executive produced many more. His subject was Australia--its nature, inhabitants, and changing identity. Haydon dealt with issues of environmental conservation and politically correct anthropology long before it was fashionable. A promoter of Australian documentaries, he helped initiate the Australian Film Commission's formative Documentary Fellowship Program.
