American ice dancer Zachary Tyler Donohue was born on Jan. 8, 1991, in Madison, Conn. He began competing with partner Kaylyn Patittucci in the 2006-07 season, though they did not advance to the 2007 U.S. Championships. The following season he competed with Lili Lamar, but they fell short of the 2008 U.S. Championships. Just before the 2008-09 season began, he partnered with Piper Gilles, and the new pair made their international debut at the 2008-09 ISU Junior Grand Prix event in the Czech Republic, where they took the gold. Though they qualified for the 2008-09 Junior Grand Prix Final, they were forced to withdraw due to an injury suffered by Gilles. At the end of 2010, however, the pair announced the end of their partnership, and Donohue partnered briefly with Alissandra Aronow. But in 2011 Donohue teamed up with Madison Hubbell. They got off to an auspicious start, winning the gold at their international debut in the 2011 Nebelhorn Trophy, and they finished 10th at the 2012 World Championships. At the 2013 Skate Canada International, they claimed the bronze -- their first Grand Prix medal - and won the gold at the 2014 Four Continents Championship. Hubbell and Donohue were chosen to represent the U.S. at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.
