These aren’t kitchen-sink movies; they’re garbage disposal rejects, alloys composed of leftover scraps. And the viewers who are supposed to see themselves in these tough-as-nails characters deserve better.

It runs mostly through the motions, decrescendoing after every kill into a cyclical thrill ride. Avoiding spoilers, the sequel only veers in a new direction toward the end, but this twist comes after the story flatlines.

Part 2 has no novelty, fewer actors with recall value, and nothing going for it in terms of script, except putting Grace through a day-and-night of hell, with a Council of ‘Satan worshippers’ chasing her to kill her. Even the deaths are less original.

This was so entertaining start to finish. It is just as good as the first film. Seeing these women together, who have all become staples in the horror genre, was such a treat. My only critique is that it sort of loses momentum at the very end. The final scene felt a bit rushed but not enough to poorly impact the entire movie.
