One morning, spirited Rana (Clara Khoury), a Palestinian teenager living in Jerusalem, receives a startling note from her father, Abu Siad (Zuher Fahoum) : She can either get married or emigrate with him to Egypt later that afternoon. Rana dashes off to find her boyfriend, Khalil (Khalifa Natour), but must negotiate menacing Israeli checkpoints and strict Islamic law as she races across the West Bank. She begins to wonder if she really wants to stay after all.

Rana has a different idea - to marry her boyfriend, Khalil(Khalifa Natour), a theatre director who has not measured up to her father's rigorous standards. But, first, Rana has to find him...[/font] [font=Century Gothic][/font] [font=Century Gothic]"Rana's Wedding" is an exquisitely filmed and illuminating movie about the West Bank which uses the plot as a way of examining the land under siege and the difficulties of living there even on the best of days. This, however, is a day of trials for Rana and Khalil, and her frustration and anger are those of a whole people. That having been said, the lives of the characters at the center of this excellent movie do matter.[/font]
