Dave S Oct 25 You’ve got to give credit to anyone who’s willing to stick their necks out on a low-budget, independent movie, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a good movie. A Girl, A Boy, A Penny, and a Very, Very, Very Long Road is about a young woman (the girl) who, while on a drive in the country, comes to a fork in the road that is both literal and figurative. Taking the rough road, she winds up picking up a mysterious hitchhiker (the boy) and a young lady (the Penny) sleeping on the road. For the remainder of the film, they drive around (very slowly) on the very long road and stumble about in the woods, revealing hidden secrets about themselves and musing about things existential. While the attempt is admirable, the movie gets bogged down by some truly annoying dialogue, weak performances, and far too many shots of tree bark, mossy rocks, and grass blowing in the wind. It was a nice try, though. See more 04/13/2021 I finally got a chance last night to watch this incredibly whimsical, heartfelt and thought provoking film written, directed and edited by Julia beney!! So much about each one of the characters was relatable, and hit close to home. It's a wholesome story about facing our fears and looking to the road ahead.
