John M @johnmussack 54m Good story (except the passenger mutiny was totally implausible) and good aerial/countryside photography. But bad acting, script, and directing. SPOILER ALERT: It's really a government conspiracy movie, disguised as a thriller. You get hints throughout the movie, and find out for sure at the end. But it doesn't end. The conspiracy is unsuccessful, but the main character doesn't know that, and it doesn't show what happens as a result. See more Blu B Aug 20 It's Not Bad honestly and I have to say this should honestly be remade. I can 100% see this working in the right hands and having like Tom Cruise/Austin Butler/Brad Pitt with the likes of Paul Greengrass behind the camera. This core idea is great idea for a thriller disaster film hybrid. The problem is there is way way way too msny characters in this. You probably need a core 4 people in this and this has like a dozen or so and it makes it so jumpy contantly. Whenever it focues on the individual stories of each on the train it's boring, unimportant, and unfocused. Whenever it focuses on the actual core plot of the virus, people getting sick, containing it, and the rush/battle to stop the train it's a good movie 100%. It just can't get out of its own way with jumping around constantly even when it does focus on the core plot. It makes the editing justalright and everything else is half decent. The train is a great claustrophobic setting, the shootouts are good, the direction is pretty good with some solid camerawork, and the quarantine scenes are creepy and well done. Harris & Lancaster are great here and the best things acting wise. Harris just has a thing for being the best thing in disaster movies. If your a die hard fan of any actors here, the director, or disaster movies than maybe check this out. Most could skip it and not miss much.
