07/08/2013 If this was satire, it doesn't come off well and if anything would appear to be in bad taste. Martens goes to Africa to convince the poor that they are a valuable commodity for international and that they are noble in their suffering. Surely they have suffered enough. See more 04/19/2010 I think it's good movie who doesn't know too much about development aid but cares about the issue. The movie is controversial and sometimes seems offensive but it is definitely provocative and stimulates one to think of who and how benefits of huge aid budgets, about power relationships and yes, poverty. See more 01/23/2010 Renzo Martens is trying to help the poor people in Congo to make money out of their poverty but, obviously, it's not easy.
