David Gritten Independent (UK) Dec 7, 2007
In terms of keeping his plot obscure, director Brice Cauvin tips his chapeau in the direction of David Lynch, but ultimately it's rather lifeless. File under "calculatedly enigmatic". Go to Full Review

Playfully blurs the boundaries between the real and the imagined, and unfolds against a backdrop of mysterious terrorist attacks in the French capital. Go to Full Review

Feb 21, 2008 Felt bemused at the end but this film wont go out of my head. See more Feb 1, 2008 Lots of arty camera work, and although there is a narrative of sorts (look hard), it's the little moments of almost habitual everyday interaction between the couple/ mother and children that stick in my mind... and the male protagonist is a rather disillusioned architect with a bitchy boss! What more could one want... other than to tell the said boss to fuck off, that is. See more Mike M @RT59071784 Dec 24, 2007 A funny little headscratcher... The wilful obfuscation is liable to leave it one of those films more readily embraced by critics - practically every scene begs for interpretation - than by wide audiences, but it's never quite the dry, academic exercise it could have been: though puzzling, it's never boring. Cauvin makes good use of Fillieres' rattled girlishness, and Lucas's barely perceptible, subcutaneous twitches, his fear-the-worst grimaces, are always value for money. See more Read all reviews
