Critics Consensus

One of indie stalwart Gregg Araki's most accessible works yet, this bawdy dramedy leverages well-judged performances by Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman to deliver incisive commentary on carnality and connection.

It’s not only a delight but a relief, an oasis in a desert of movies too timid to show sexuality as both dangerous and alluring. Go to Full Review

This silly-sexy slice of pop-noir art world satire serves as Araki’s manifesto about the power and creative energy of the erotic, and it just might be the hottest, and most refreshingly honest, rom-com of the summer. Go to Full Review

Not alway as outrageous as it thinks it is, Gregg Araki’s screwball sex farce about the sizzle Gen Z isn’t feeling soars on the teamwork of Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman. Go to Full Review

Splicing comedy to sexual awakening in this day and age is a tall task, and scrambling brains with the jeopardy of fantasy fulfillment is even bolder. Go to Full Review

Though it never quite reaches the orgasmic heights it strives for, I Want Your Sex pokes and prods deep enough to keep us hooked to its salacious, hyper-kinetic groove. Go to Full Review

This fiercely indie filmmaker still brings his typically gonzo energy to much of the action here, along with his keen visual sense, his innate empathy for all his characters, and his deft handling of tone. Go to Full Review

David M 2h Fun movie. Glad to have Araki back. See more Tom B 3h Mediocre off-beat comedy that frequently misses the mark. See more Austin 9h So fun, great acting. Love Charli but stop putting her in movies. See more Ghederick Eshmont 1d Very funny, has a bit of a mid-aughts comedy vibe within Pillion & Baby Girl See more jesse v 2d an anxious somewhat-immature washed college graduate enters the world of sexual artistry and sex fantasies and falls in love with pretentious lady. there are some sexual jokes that raise an eyebrow, and political/social jokes that make you sigh. there are some non-continuous-shot editing mistakes throughout. Why does he and his girlfriend text like children? what does the lesbian friend do other than be token ditzy lesbian? does the girlfriend ever do anything else other than read a book?? Why are there only extras in the art studio and nowhere else? The crime drama substory was slightly intriguing. See more Bill B @RT21371010 10h I was really hoping for an erotic thriller with some dark humor thrown in, but what I got was a silly vibe without an ounce of sexy chemistry. The twist near the ending was somewhat predictable and the ending itself did not make much sense. A young man, Eliot, lands a job as an assistant to an artist, Erika, played by Olivia Wilde, who uses sex as her theme. Shortly he becomes her muse and sexual fantasies come true. But I thought the whole thing was forced with no sexual tension and the kinky sex scenes were just plain ridiculous. With the young Eliot being forced to snort like a pig on all fours. Olivia, who is a beautiful woman, just didn't send me off to fantasy land and I thought the scenes were just embarrassing. There is a bit of a plot twist, as Erika's latest art venture is not selling and she uses Elliot unknowingly to sell her art, but I seen that coming pretty much from the get go. The ending was a bit forced as well, as if they come up with something just to end it. See more Read all reviews
