In 1979, three Kazakh teenagers -- Valera (Anatoly Gapchuk), Karim (Sanzhar Iskakov) and Jacob (Shalva Gogoladze) -- have just finished another year of school and stand ready to throw back some vodka, smoke some dope and celebrate the start of the summer. With their judgment sufficiently impaired, the trio break into a nearby nightclub and make off with some of the merchandise. Unfortunately, Valera's stepdad then calls the police, setting off a chain of events that ends in tragedy.
