It's not so much that Love is in the Air is a terrible film, it's just terribly familiar and has the audacity to be every bit as predictable as you can surmise it will be from its opening frames.

Caught as it is between mocking romance clichés and investing in them, the film is too up in the air to succeed on either front, as love story or sendup.
