The narrative’s entertaining momentum is vivid and eventually uncertain – Usry finishes by reconsidering all he’s presented. Go to Full Review

Netflix has carved out quite a niche in popular crime documentaries, and this death among the Monaco elite has all the hallmarks of its hit formula—plus the added glamor of money and power. Go to Full Review

The documentary Murder in Monaco will make viewers' heads spin with how it explores different theories of who caused the 1999 death of billionaire Edmond Safra. The movie has compelling interviews with flamboyant personalities. Go to Full Review

Murder in Monaco is sensationalist, journalistically sloppy junk that needlessly muddies the waters of truth and futzes with timelines for the sake of its own dramatic reveals. Go to Full Review

...wild and full of conspiracy and extravagant, eccentric characters. One more extreme than the former. Also, it has so many twists and turns, it’s perfect for anyone who enjoyed The Jinx or Tiger King. Go to Full Review

Julio C. @Juliosurfer Jan 2 Excellent documentary. There were many twists and turns. Sort of like a game of Who's the murderer. I was filmed amazingly. See more Philip R @PhilipRoss Jan 1 Murder in Monaco is a deliciously fun thrill ride from start to finish. Packed with fascinating characters and a steady stream of twists and turns, it sweeps you through a lavish world of wealth, intrigue, and danger — from the azure-blue seas of Monaco to the sun-baked sands of New Mexico. The story unfolds in layers, revealing surprises just when you think you have it figured out. Stylish, escapist, and wildly entertaining, it’s the kind of glossy, addictive mystery you sink into and simply enjoy. Pure, irresistible mindless escapism. See more Scott M. @Skeeeeezo Dec 26 A who done it that gains some clarity towards the end, especially as the other possibilities felt only halfbaked. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 24 Murder in Monaco on Netflix is a documentary series that explores a high-profile murder case with ambition and creativity. It provides context, interviews, and detailed accounts, giving viewers a clear understanding of the events and the people involved. The director succeeds in presenting the material in an organized way, creating a factual narrative that educates while attempting to engage. However, the series struggles with pacing, and some segments feel flat or underdeveloped, making it difficult to remain fully absorbed. At times, the storytelling lacks dramatic tension, which diminishes the potential emotional impact. Despite these flaws, the documentary is credible and informative, offering valuable insights into the case. While it doesn’t fully captivate or reach the level of more gripping true-crime documentaries, it still provides a solid overview. Overall, Murder in Monaco is worthwhile for viewers interested in crime stories, though it is uneven in execution. See more Christian C. @filmhobbyist89 Dec 22 Hard to know where to start. (1) the primary sources are all totally unreliable witnesses interested in their own publicity / exoneration / self-aggrandizement or other massively questionable motivations (2) Lady Colin Campbell is offered up as an apparently credible, apparently aristocratic observer. One need only take 5 minutes to read her Wikipedia page, her rap sheet of appearances on E list celebrity reality TV, her bibliography of unsolicited and spurious Royal biographies and of herself and of her family, her TV defense of Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein (also unsolicited). And and etc etc (3) the Reddit page does a fairly strong job at calling out the remarkably tenuous storyline of this entire sordid affair. All participants are extremely questionable people in all respects. Safras, journalists, witnesses, staff, Monaco police / judiciary Frankly the most surprising participant is Bill Browder who makes it quite apparent by his participation that he is of questionable judgment himself… See more Read all reviews
