Unfortunately, while the ladies are trying to portray a time they might have experienced in their lives, the characters in the story are severely underdeveloped and somewhat exhausting to watch.

The reality is that you simply don't care about any of these people - they're all kind of awful, really - and without empathetic engagement ... what's the point?

Not every relationship wraps up as well as others, but the film's journey is what gives 'Otherhood' its staying power. Fortunately, thanks to the well-sold drama, performances and truth revelations, it's a cozy Netflix watch.

Just like parenthood, Otherhood is full of frustrations, but it offers few of the rewards.

[W]atching "Otherhood" leaves audiences feeling secondhand embarrassment, not only for everyone's cringe-worthy behavior on screen but also for these lauded actresses who both starred in and executive produced this subpar film.
