Movie Info

Good documentaries are based on the attempt, in one fashion or another, to document reality. Great documentaries take you further. This movie questions what is reality and reveals how our perceptions can actually create reality. If you liked The Secret, The Shadow Effect, or What The Bleep Do We Know!? then you're sure to love this docudrama by Austin Vickers. This must-see psychological movie includes some of the nation's leading thinkers in the fields of neuroscience, biochemistry, psychology, quantum physics, sociology, and consciousness theory, including Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Candace Pert, Debbie Ford, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Robert Jahn, Dr. Peter Senge, Brenda Dunne, and Dr. Michael Vandermark. It is set in the notorious "Old Main Prison" of the New Mexico State Penitentiary, and tells the story of Aaron Roberts. -- (C) Official Site

More infomercial than movie, "People V. the State of Illusion" calls itself a documentary but is really a 90-minute PowerPoint presentation by motivational speaker Austin Vickers.

If you can overlook its shortcomings and focus on the information it provides, you may find it enlightening.

None of the prison scenes ring true (though Tuttle is a somewhat intriguing actor), and they distract from the discussion brought up in the rest of the film.

What are they trying to sell me here?

Jan 4, 2013 | Rating: 1.5/4 | Full Review…

A deadly dull treatise on stress and other modern psychological hindrances to health and happiness that comes across as a Scientology recruitment video awkwardly cross-pollinated with a late-night infomercial.
