07/28/2021 This is more boring than Tenant and the Red Dwarf pilot See more 05/18/2015 The Room is absolutely stuffed with everything awful that you can possibly imagine and will likely go down as one of the most fascinatingly-awful movies of all time. It has an incoherent and incomplete story, atrocious acting, awful music and score, and a complete lack of cinematic coherence. However, what the movie really turns out to be is an unintentional comedy, and possibly one of the finest ever made. There's a level of disillusionment going on in Tommy Wiseau's mind that is absolutely mind-boggling. The man somehow got about six million dollars together (exactly how much is unknown, not to mention fishy), got a cast and crew together, shot, finished the movie, AND self-promoted it. It's incredible really, and I can't really fathom how it all came to be but I'm glad that it did. Even the extras on the DVD are of the same caliber. I have to say that I really enjoyed the movie for being such a pile of crap and I spent the better part of it laughing until it hurt (Rifftrax also helped). Let's hope this guy keeps making more of movies. I truly and genuinely love i and I would gladly pay to see anything else that he makes. For the record, I attended the first screening of it and not the encore screening. See more 05/12/2015 So...this was a movie? I think? As always the Rifftrax crew's jokes were good (the dig at Gamergate was worth the price of admission alone), but the movie. I just. You hear about movies like this and you think no, it can't possibly be as bad as people are saying, and it turns out it's not--it's actually worse. The Room is so awful it transcends awfulness and becomes a horrible, awful, brain-scarring work of art. Plus it's got some ugly misogynistic undertones (well, not so much "undertones," more "it's right there in the text"), so it's kind of hard to even give anyone involved in this trainwreck the benefit of the doubt about what they thought they were making.
