Unable to accept the fact that her daughter is dying, Rose (Radha Mitchell) decides to take the girl to a faith healer. Unfortunately, the writing and acting is distractingly bad at times. Honestly, it felt like they spent all the budget on the production design, and then midway realized they never bothered with a script.

This movie is incredibly underrated. Like many videogame adaptations there were changes, but they worked and the actors did their jobs well. By far the best part of the movie is the music and the atmosphere. Those 2 things were completely faithful to the Silent Hill Franchise. Sadly there hasn't been one as good as this since.

I wanted to like it so bad but the plot is a scattered mess. The script makes it so hard for the actors to showcase any sorts of their talent. The constant screaming from Rose and unevenly loud background noise comes from poorly done editing. It starts to become undeniably piercing on the ears. The only thing I will give this film is how well the creatures are displayed in this film. Overall 5.5/10

The other two Silent Hills, make this movie look like a masterpiece compared to them. The camera angles during the hallway/alleyway scenes are just like it is in the original PS1 game. The makeup and costume design for the nurses and other silent hill-like monsters were very accurate. This movie used alot of bits and pieces of the game, however used the majority of its own adaptation to the story, which was probably the reason why this movie was overhated. Even though this movie is adapted heavily, and isn't even close to Silent Hill, it uses very similar attributes from the games to atleast make it feel like it.

Oh my. The entire film seems to work with disgust, fear, and completely exaggerated volume differences. Sorry, but that's so cheap. What a waste of time and money.
