Movie Info

As if serious film critics could do anything about it, here they are: Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Adams. Add three stars if you can match the name with the nickname, an activity more exciting than the movie.

"What's the plot?" you may be asking. Well so am I.

A promotional tool that establishes its superfluousness simply by existing, this clumsy, smirking movie has a bitter soul.

Full of silly, swirling fantasy sequences and breezy backstage glimpses into their ``lives'' - not to mention an album's worth of new tunes - Spice World offers a fanciful view of fame and female camaraderie in the fabulous '90s.

Spice World is a smart vehicle for the Girls, a cheerful and occasionally witty self-parody that does for the Spices what Help! and A Hard Day's Night did for the Beatles.

A movie about four months too late to endure in the pop-culture annals and about four stars too short to be a four-star movie.

As an example of pop-culture debris, Spice World is absolutely perfect. Without, of course, being any good.

Audience Reviews for Spice World

How they decide which bands to make movies about, I wish I knew. Who would think that this girl band from England would be the perfect group for a comedic music movie? Whoever it was, I thank them, this silly comedy is a delight, and it helps young people get interested in the music industry. At least that was what it did for me. Overall, it's very silly and outrageous, but I really liked it.

As a young fan of the Spice Girls, I loved being able to see my hero's. Now however, I can see it's terrible and should be forgotten about.
