Life has changed drastically for thunder buddies John (Mark Wahlberg), now a bachelor, and best pal Ted (Seth MacFarlane), now married to the woman (Jessica Barth) of his dreams. Problems arise when the couple decide to adopt a child, but the law declares Ted to be property and not a person. Angry and dejected, the lovably foulmouthed teddy bear must now seek legal help from a young lawyer (Amanda Seyfried) and a legendary, civil-rights attorney (Morgan Freeman) to get the justice he deserves.

The "offensive" jokes that pop up every once in a while in 'Ted 2' aren't social satire, or good gags, or even particularly vicious - they're a gimmick, taunting, trollery.

It's alright. The first movie at least had some heart and genuinely hilarious, this one has too much stereotypical Macfarlane random skits with low hanging fruit humor (even for Macfarlane), stitched together into a mess of a movie. Occasionally funny, but mostly forgettable. Honestly, it's a sequel that should not have been made.

I know there are those viral clips of this movie that everyone gets a kick out of: the improv scene, Liam Neeson with the Trix, and John with his weird stuff. They’re all hilarious scenes, but much like Family Guy, it’s a mix of hilarious jokes, a narrative that is frankly just boring, and jokes that don't land or are straight-up ripped off from Family Guy. I mean, Ted singing At This Moment during the court scene? Brian did that in Family Guy. John getting covered in stuff? That happened to Peter. You have that with just such a nothing story and John getting divorced for no reason (side tangent that might be my least favorite thing in sequels when they kill off or get rid of previous characters and break them up). So, overall, it’s a pretty lame sequel with some funny jokes mixed in, but easily the TV series and the first movie are miles better. I’m glad Seth realized how funny these characters can be when he’s not just putting them into boring scenarios. 5.2/10
