Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film 02/04/2013
4/5
Those who remember the tragic events 76 years ago are fantastic characters, open and honest in their opinions and allowed to be themselves without the guiding voice of an interviewer. This intimacy makes for a fascinating and compelling film. Go to Full Review

11/14/2008 Fantastic documentary about a little Hungarian village where the women started killing their husbands and other men they didn't like by poisoning them with Arsenic! This is a true story that happened in post-WWII Hungary. I hear there is a big budget film set to be made about it, which I can't wait to see:) See more 04/27/2008 I wished they had explored the Hungarian attitude about these murders a little better...it was only 40 minutes long. Interested in seeing the Big budget film based on this event. The 30 min short film which premiered at IDFA in 2005 is a quiet and introspective documentary that focuses on the local residents of Nagyrev but as the film unfolds it reveals a sordid hidden past - the mysterious murders of hundres of men by their wives in what has been dubbed as the "arsenic murders".
