In ancient times, the gods of Asgard fought and won a war against an evil race known as the Dark Elves. The survivors were neutralized, and their ultimate weapon -- the Aether -- was buried in a secret location. Hundreds of years later, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finds the Aether and becomes its host, forcing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to bring her to Asgard before Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) captures her and uses the weapon to destroy the Nine Realms -- including Earth.

Loki is the only character who makes himself new and interesting. When he is around, Thor: The Dark World becomes a different film altogether. You wish there was more of him. The rest of it is metal clanking.

(Road to Doomsday pt. 8) Yeah, this movie actually kind of kicks ass, and I’m tired of pretending it doesn’t. A big reason is that I find it way more watchable than the original Thor. The action is bigger, better, and there’s more of it, too. Tom Hiddleston as Loki is casting perfection and honestly rivals Downey as Iron Man for the best casting in the entire MCU. Yeah, Malekith and the Dark Elves are weak sauce, and their evil plot with the Aether is painfully dull and generic. But Thor: The Dark World as a whole is still really good. It doesn’t deserve all the hate it gets, and I’d honestly say it’s one of the most underrated early entries in the MCU.

Me encanta esta película. Tiene todo lo necesario para ser una buena película de Thor: una buena historia, buen ritmo, acción, drama, diversión y buenos efectos. Thor tiene un gran desarrollo de personaje, tiene la cabeza muy clara y es un hombre maduro, sabe tomar decisiones. Ver Asgard siempre es complaciente, es un lugar mágico, espectacular. La muerte de Frigga es un evento que marca al personaje principal y su funeral es digno de Disney. Aquí vemos un buen desarrollo de Loki como personaje. Loki realmente te hace querer confiar en él; es increíble. Por otro lado, nuevamente pienso que la relación entre Jane y Thor se ve un poco forzada y sin química. El hecho de que el eather se haya implantado específicamente en ella es por conveniencia del guion; realmente eso me parece muy al azar. Fuera de eso, Thor: The Dark World es una buena película, entretenida y con la esencia viva del personaje. No es la mejor película de Thor, ¡pero la amo!
